When being an outspoken nerd pays off

Though I'm not doing the Facebook thing as often as I used to, I do check in from time to time on certain pages, especially ones that have something in common with the ones I admin, namely my Swords & Sixguns book page and Jonah Hex, Via Pony Express.  I'll poke around Western-themed pages like Westernpunk or ones that talk comics, always on the lookout for content to share, or just toss in my two cents where applicable.

Well, it looks like some of my FB activity has attracted some attention.  Justin Francoeur -- who runs a blog of his own called "DC in the '80s", as well as a Facebook page by the same name -- dropped me a line a couple of days ago.  Seems he's a fan of all the Hexy stuff I do, and asked if I'd like to be on the judges' panel of a contest his site is running, as well as contribute to the blog itself (which is styled after an old-school homemade 'zine, complete with typewriter-style fonts and "cutout" graphics).  "Sure, sounds like fun!" I told him, and we spent some time hammering out just what he's interested in regards to content.  So this li'l fangirl is gonna get some more exposure elsewhere.  Always a good thing.

If you're interested in seeing what the contest is about, go to
